KDT has a long history in gaming. In the beginning KDT, then Kaizen Drift Team, was created on Midnight Club 3: Remix on PS2, during tough times for another large club Devils Racing Project, many DRP members were looking for something fresh, so I stepped forward, leaving DRP myself and creating my own club, taking with it a few of it's members. DRP remain friends and allies of KDT to this day and we here at KDT wish them the best of luck with their own operations. Anyway, KDT went from strength to strength until I became inactive after acquiring a PS3 a few months after KDT began. Many members left but then I made a comeback to find some members were still around.
The decision was then made to move KDT away from the PS2 after an overall successful run on MC3. Times were tough when moving to the next generation console however, finding members was difficult, old members had yet to own PS3s, and things were looking bleak. Things appeared to get worse when the next installment in the Midnight Club series, Los Angeles, disapointed many and didn't even have the clan system let alone a communicating community. Not wanting to give up, we tried adding website address to our cars, using videos and the internet to promote ourselves as well as the games themselves. It worked, KDT was beginning to grow again, we never aimed to be the biggest, but what's a team without members? I then decided that it was time to move on from the failing Midnight Club, it alone simply doesn't provide a good clan environment, which resulted in the creation of KDT extra section for driving outside of that which is done sideways. We then moved primarily on to GTA IV, successfully policing the streets of Liberty City in a role not normally in most members usual activity but proved to be a entertaining change of pace for us all though we also held long distance cruises of a Gumball-esque style. Unfortunately another draught then came as big titles were delayed and activity dropped, then along came Gran Turismo 5 to save the day just when I was ready to give in. Currently looking to start up some regular events on GT5, hopefully this next stage in the KDT story will be a long and successful one.
